Our Network

On Common Country is an Indigenous-owned and operated project engagement organisation that works to strengthen Indigenous economic participation across Northern Queensland. They lead initiatives such as the First Nations Work Preparation Program, partnering with local automotive industry employers to prepare First Nations job seekers for careers in transport and logistics. These pathways support learners to gain licences, secure employment, and build lasting connections within their communities, creating stronger foundations for long-term success.

NRL Cowboys House supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from remote communities in North Queensland. The organisation provides safe, stable accommodation, access to quality secondary education, and life skills development. Their holistic model ensures students are supported academically, emotionally, and culturally as they transition from community life to mainstream schooling. Through our partnership, we help young people stay connected to their culture while building strong foundations for education, employment, and independence.

Sharehouse Youth Programs supports young people aged 16–25 who are at risk and need extra help. The organisation provides crisis and transitional housing, mobile outreach, and workshops that build employability skills. Their Step into Success program helps participants gain the life and work skills they need for the future. Through our partnership, we provide driver training and licensing support, giving young people greater independence, stronger job opportunities, and safer futures.

Bamara is an Indigenous-owned organisation that delivers culturally safe employment, training, and support services across Queensland, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory. In Townsville, they provide programs such as Transition to Work, apprenticeship support, and driver licensing initiatives to help people overcome barriers to employment. Through our collaboration, we support Bamara participants with driver training and licensing, giving them greater independence and stronger opportunities for the future.

Nick and the team at Bridgestone service our fleet with outstanding care. They provide wheel alignments, tyre health checks, and even detailed videos of the servicing, allowing us to compare between visits and clearly see the work that’s been done. It's a transparent and professional service that gives us real peace of mind.

Our Pledge

We Promise You

From your first lesson to your final licence upgrade, we're with you for the long haul. Whether you need clarification on a road rule, want guidance on upgrading your licence, or simply feel like chatting during a long drive - we're just a phone call away. Once you join our learner family, you're with us for life!

Environmental Sustainability

We encourage eco-conscious driving from day one by teaching fuel-efficient habits such as smooth acceleration, maintaining steady speeds, minimizing unnecessary idling, and planning ahead to optimize momentum. These techniques reduce fuel consumption, cut emissions, and lower vehicle wear—benefiting both our students and the environment.

Basic Human Rights

We believe every learner deserves dignity, respect, and the right to opportunity. Inspired by global human rights principles, we build an inclusive, non-discriminatory learning culture—one that values diversity, treats each person equally, and honours the principles of fairness and respect.

Anxious Drivers

Learning to drive can be daunting—but you're not alone. Many experience brain fog, panic, or overwhelm while behind the wheel. Studies show that driver training tailored for anxiety—including techniques like guided pacing, mindful breathing, and supportive instruction—can significantly improve confidence and reduce stress on the road. Our instructors are trained to offer calm, patient guidance, allowing each learner to build trust and control one moment at a time.

Equitable Support

At Learn to Drive North Queensland, safety on the roads goes hand in hand with safety in life. We recognise that for some individuals, driving is not just a skill—it’s a crucial step toward autonomy and healing. That’s why we’re dedicated to supporting those affected by Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) as well as those seeking asylum from war.
